I’m curious how loosing 2 million hectares of forests (size of Wales) to fire will impact on our ability to meet our Paris agreement target. What do you say to that Mr Morrison? #climatechange #parisagreement #bushfires #auspol #climateemergency

I started the great Australian backyard bird count today. I did it on my morning walk. In the 20 minute period I saw 15 species and 42 birds in total. In addition I saw 3 irresponsible dog owners walking their dogs without leashes and 2 of them were walk their dogs, in an area where they were not supposed to walk dogs at all. #birdcount #greatbackyardbirdcount #birds
Nice sunset at Byron last night
I helped out on another koala food tree planting day yesterday at Ewingsdale- near Byron Bay. We planted 2000 trees in total. And we were rewarded with a sighting of a koala at the end of the planting session. What a lovely treat- a nice reminder of what we are trying to save. Koalas are on the verge of extinction here in the northern rivers. #koala #koalaconservation #conservation #wildlifeconservation
I saw this wedge tailed eagle (Aquila audax), feeding on an hour ex-wallaby today. I usually see theme soaring too n the thermals. It’s easy to forget how big they are. Their wing span can be up to 2.84m and they stand about 1 m high, which is huge. They were almost hunted to extinction in Australia but have been making a comeback. They are huge, the 3rd biggest eagle in the world. #eagle #bird #birdsofinstagram #birdsofprey
